The Community
Properties Initiative began with an effort by Campus Partners
for Urban Redevelopment, Inc., a nonprofit affiliate of
The Ohio State University, to acquire the affordable housing
portfolio and find someone to manage the neighborhood
revitalization effort. Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing
(OCCH) acquired the portfolio and launched the acquisition
and rehabilitation project in April 2003, creating Community
Properties of Ohio Management Services as the management
company.
A commitment to changing lives and buildings
Supporting the Initiative were investors, development
partners, construction teams, financing teams, legal
assistance teams, and local civic organizations—all
of whom made the Community Properties Initiative possible.
With the sincere commitment of these organizations and
individuals, Community Properties of Ohio Management Services
began the task of changing buildings and changing lives
to provide a higher standard of inner-city affordable
housing in Columbus.
